Well after the death of the computer and yet more attempts to fix it I finally gave up on it. On the plus side I now have a case free to build a new system in. I removed all the components and cleaned it all out. It’s almost like new again.
The plan on that front is to get some new fans to get it ready for new components. I plan to go for all new electonics and cables, nothing from the old machine, with the exception of the floppy drive, will be in the new one. I don’t want worn fans to go failing on me or an ageing part to develop a fault and taking the system out.
It’s going to be a big rebuild but it will be worth it.
