A spot of Astronomy

This evening I spotted a bright object in the sky next to the moon. A little investigation revealed it was our good friend Venus and not a commet on a collision course signalling impending doom. After digging around with some astronomy software, I uncovered a little more detail about the night sky. Mars was also present to the left of the moon. Looking west at around 30 degrees from the horizon was Saturn. 3 Planets in one night, I’m pleased with myself :)
